He was also the Co-founder and Non-Executive Promoter Director for Home First Finance Company (HFFC), a housing finance institution regulated by the NHB, focused on financing customers who are not able to access mortgage loans from the banking sector.

Debasish Mallick retired as Deputy Managing Director of EXIM Bank of India in his last role. Mr. Mallick oversaw the overall affairs of the Bank and looked after all operational and policy making matters pertaining to extension of Credit in both Domestic and International markets, Finance functions including Resource raising and Treasury in both International and Domestic markets, HR matters, including training, Research, and all other matters. The flagship programme of EXIM Bank, viz. Lines of Credit (LoC), Project Export credit were also under his guidance. Restructuring proposals including the newly formulated Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) which engaged his attention, as a senior banker.
